Gehringer Brothers Estate Winery just south of Oliver on the Golden Mile Bench is a bit of a hidden gem.  When the winery site was originally purchased, it had been noted that the site, tucked up against the west side of the valley, received the evening shade as of about 5:30 pm on summer evenings. Gehringer Brothers Winery on the Golden Mile in Oliver has played a big part in the evolution of the BC wine industry. Their wines have been consistently recognized in competitions from year to year and they have a loyal following of customers who appreciate both their quality wines and their reasonable prices. Another spring is upon us and it has brought another round of medals for the wines of Gehringer Brothers Estate Winery.  The Great Northwest Wine Competition is held annually at the historic Columbia Gorge Hotel in Hood River, Oregon. This year it drew over 1200 entries from Washington, Oregon, Idaho and British Columbia. The Gehringer Brothers 2014 Dry Rock Sauvignon Blanc brought home the title of Best White Wine. The New Year is upon us, but some things don’t change.  Gehringer Brothers Winery is still King of the Platinum; according to the judges at the Wine Press Northwest “Best of the Best” Platinum Wine Competition.  This years’ entries brought home a number of medals, including a Double Platinum for both the 2013 Auxerrois and the 2013 Gewürztraminer Schönburger.  In their history with the competition, Gehringer Brothers has produced the most Platinum Medal winning Rieslings, beating out many other renowned Riesling producers from north and south of the border. 2013 Auxerrois This Double Platinum winner is a clear, lemony gold…
