Happy Harvest! Its magic time in wine country and vineyards are abuzz with picking grapes for crush. Our orchards and fields are also busy harvesting their fall crops and the Farmers Market is filled with squash, apples, pears, root vegetables, pumpkins, and heirloom tomatoes. This is a time of celebration, when the year’s hard work has come to fruition and winter’s respite is in view.
Make sure to join in the celebration as festivals and events are scheduled all across the valley. September 15th don’t miss the Pepper Festival in the Similkameen (page 18) when the hottest cook in the valley will be chosen for their winning hot sauce. Fall Wine Festival straddles September and October and promises to be a rollicking good time.
