Volcanic Hills Winery in West Kelowna is excited about a new vintage season, and they invite you to join them in welcoming the longer days and warmer nights. Voted Best New Winery of 2011, they are keen to offer you many reasons to stop by and share their passion for wine and culture.
There are plenty of reasons for the Gidda family and their team to be excited. Their portfolio of wines is full of medal winners. Fans of the wines will be pleased to know that the production is larger for this vintage of favourites, Rosé and Pinot Gris. There are also new big reds to enjoy!
Volcanic Hills has a proud family history of grape growing in the Okanagan, and they take full advantage of their years of learning. Their wines illustrate the unique volcanic terroir. “Pinot Noir and Gewürztraminer have become our flagship wines because our vineyard sites offer near perfect growing conditions for these grapes”. Consulting Winemaker, Daniel Bontorin, is passionate about showing that character in the bottle.
The atmosphere at Volcanic Hills is one of spaciousness and relaxed friendliness. Your entire family is welcome - there is a children’s play area, and space outside to stretch your legs or walk the dog. The Cultural Corner features a nod to the Gidda family heritage, offering unique gifts with an East Indian touch.
The space is also available for events and functions. For upcoming news, sign up at the winery for their Calendar of Events or email them email@example.com
2010 Gewürztraminer $17.90
Lovely balance of citrus and tropical notes on the nose, followed by intense flavours of grapefruit, tangerine, mango and passion fruit. The finish is refreshing and clean, making it a great match for appetizers, or easy to sip on its own to start the party.
2009 Pinot Noir $19.90
This lightly coloured wine packs a lot of character. Cherries, caramel and five spice come through on the nose, with a hint of cardamom following through on the palate. Perfect for Asian stir-fries or teriyaki salmon.
