Happy “Quinta” Anniversary Quinta Ferreira

Contributor · April 2, 2012 ·

It is truly a year of celebration for John and Maria Ferreira, Proprietors of Quinta Ferreira Estate Winery in Oliver. This year, John and Maria, along with their family, are excited to commemorate the winery’s Quinta (5th) Anniversary!

Since opening their doors in 2007, Quinta Ferreira has garnered much acclaim, including notable awards like the Lieutenant Governor’s Award for Excellence in BC Wines. Speaking with John, Maria and their son Michael, who also happens to be the Winemaker, their excitement about the winery’s anniversary is contagious. John explains that they have many plans that will centre around the number 5. Not only is it their 5th anniversary, but the winery will also be releasing 5 wines (including a special Anniversary release), and hosting a very special Five Ferreira Paella Festival this summer. If you have never been to a Portuguese celebration, be sure to keep an eye out for this can’t-miss event that will feature delicious Portuguese cuisine, several special guests and, of course, outstanding wines.

As for the new releases, this spring will see the release of their first-ever Artist Series featuring the brilliant work of award-winning artist Carmen Tome. Not only is Carmen an inspiring artist, she also happens to be Maria’s sister. This year’s Artist Series release will include the Chardonnay, Mistura Branca, Rosé, Merlot and Obra Prima and they will be released in time for the Spring Okanagan Wine Festival. With only 60 cases of each wine produced, these will be sold exclusively at the winery and are sure to sell out quickly!

Starting Easter weekend, the wine shop will be open 7-days a week from 10 am to 6 pm. When you visit this season, be sure to wish them a very Happy 5th Anniversary and keep up-to-date on their exciting events and releases on Facebook (Quinta Ferreira Estate Winery), Twitter (@QuintaFerreira) and at www.quintaferreira.com.
