Kraze Legz Winery – Jazzing It Up For Spring

Contributor · April 2, 2012 ·

Wandering down Highway 97 toward Okanagan Falls, you will discover a wonderful adventure at Kraze Legz Winery in Kaleden. This family-owned winery takes you back to the time of jazz-filled speakeasy’s and carefree laughter. It has a panoramic vineyard with lake views and a delightful picnic area. Tasting wine while taking all this in will truly transport you in time. Owners Sue and Gerry Thygesen wear all the hats from the vineyard to wine making, so every visitor to the tasting room is a new friend for them. They’ve added Central City Brewing’s female sales team as wine agents to promote the wines for wholesale. Sue and Gerry both enjoy sharing stories and history with guests while pouring tastes of their Bee’s Knees Pinot Blanc among other small lot production wines. Those who have already discovered these gems will be pleased to know that two new wines are coming in 2012 – a single varietal Merlot and a white blend. Afraid you might miss out on a good thing? Why not join their wine club. Just tell them, “Joe sent me”. No, really – that’s the name of the club. Upcoming event: “It’s the Cat Meow” featuring wine, cheese, live Jazz music and artwork – Saturday, May 12th, 1 – 4:30 pm 2009 Black Bottom Stomp Merlot Cabernet Franc $ 31.90 Rich black fruit, espresso aromas. Seductive flavours of cherries and chocolate on the palate with velvety tannins. Long, smooth finish. ~ Kristin Peturson-Laprise
