Barrels of fun await visitors to Township 7’s two wineries this fall

Contributor · September 5, 2012 ·

As part of the Okanagan Wine Festival, the Naramata Bench winery once again hosts the “Magic of Meritage”.  This is your chance to ‘work’ on the crush pad with Winemaker, Bradley Cooper to explore how blending traditional Bordeaux wines from different barrels produces the most palate-pleasing Meritage blend.  The hands-on event is September 29th for only $20, so book now to share in this unique, educational and entertaining experience

Their south Langley Township 7 winery will again feature the popular “Harvest Picking Party” on October 21 – a free event that always runs a waiting list.  Great hilarity ensues the following weekend on October 28 at their “Grape Stomp”, where teams (costumes encouraged) must stomp enough grapes to fill a case of wine. This is by donation with proceeds to the local Critter Care Wildlife Society.  Join them for this must do ‘Bucket List’ experience!

Check out their most popular red – the 2009 Merlot ($24.99) for a well-structured, full-bodied wine to enjoy with hearty Autumn fare, Gold Medal – All Canadian Wine Awards.  The newly released 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon ($25.99) is harmonious to the palate and a great accompaniment to a rich lamb dish. For the white wine drinkers, be sure to try Township 7’s elegantly balanced 2010 Chardonnay ($19.99), a great pairing with your Thanksgiving turkey, or their unoaked, fresh and crisp 2011 Chardonnay ($17.99) for a Chablis-style white that is ideal as an apéritif.
