Serendipity Releases a Summer Rosé

Michael Botner · September 5, 2012 ·

Serendipity’s saucy summer launch party, the sassy Naramata Bench winery revealed a trio of sexy wine offerings. Assisted by a band of merry helpers, Owner/Winemaker Judy Kingston and daughter Katie O’Kell served up an afternoon of sipping and savouring fun under the sun. A trained gourmet Chef, Judy prepared delectable treats to pair with each of the wines.

2011 Rosé $17.90 Combining every red variety in Judy’s vineyard palate, naughty Rosé displays a zesty dry palate with essences of cherry, strawberry, rhubarb, pink grapefruit, kiwi and mineral. It was perfectly paired with candied smoked salmon and raspberries with dark chocolate pieces.

White Lie $17.90 A lively blend of Viognier, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, and Gewürztraminer, this tangy white features juicy cantaloupe, apricot, grapefruit and tropical fruit with hints of smoke, mineral, almond, and white chocolate. Super with Judy’s bruschetta.

Devil’s Advocate $24.90 A Bordeaux blend with some Syrah for good measure, it delivers a smooth, supple palate brimming with ripe cherry and plum, and nuances of coffee bean, eucalyptus, toast and vanilla, followed by sweet, spicy tannins. Judy’s delectable snacks included chili on a taco and sausage with blackberry jam.

2011 Viognier $19.90 Vibrant and focused, it features apple, apricot, grapefruit, melon, tangerine and mineral cleansed by zesty acidity

2011 Sauvignon Blanc $19.90 A dynamite Sauvignon Blanc, it embodies springtime in a bottle. It boasts a nose of fresh cut grass with a palate of grapefruit, melon, pear, peach, kiwi, mineral, asparagus and grass. Lovely with exquisite smoked salmon and cream cheese with dill, made by Judy’s neighbor Rose Marie Edvinsson.
