The Cove’s Bonfire Grill – Where Locals Hang Out

Contributor · September 11, 2012 ·

Bonfire Grill, situated in The Cove Lakeside resort has quickly become a favourite of localWest Kelowna residents since its opening in 2005. If the stunning lakeside patio, pull in boat docking and impressive views weren't enough to sway you to come in for a visit, Chef Grant de Montreuil has planted a culinary vegetable garden to tantalize diners' taste buds. Each week the menu revolves around the ever changing bounty of what is available from the Chef's nearby garden. The goal at Bonfire Grill is to utilize the local ingredients whenever possible. Bonfire Grill is a restaurant with a community conscience. They achieve this mantra not only with their food but with their drinks as well. The wine list includes a variety of local wines from the nearby Westside Wine Trail. Wined Down Wednesday is held each week at the restaurant until the end of September, featuring live music and wine by the glass. The enticing drink menu also includes wine martinis made with Okanagan wines. On Sunday Sept 30th Bonfire Grill will be hosting the 'Perfect Palate' in conjunction with the Okanagan Fall Wine Festival. This event includes wines from Red Rooster, Calona Vineyards, Peller Estates and Sandhill. Wines from each of these local wineries will be paired with food from the gourmet 'chef action stations' on the lake side patio. Local artists will also be on hand showcasing their work. Guests are invited to stroll The Cove's garden and mingle on the patio with Chef de Montreuil, the artists and winemakers. Elle-Electric and Bob Graham will be performing live music at the event being held from 2-6pm. Tickets $69.
Diners are invited to 'Dock N'Go or Dine N'Dock' all season long as long as they're brave enough to go boating in the autumn weather!
