A Wine Experience Like No Other At Black Hills Estate WInery

Contributor · September 6, 2013 ·

Black Hills Estate Winery, the winery known best for its blockbuster Bordeaux-style Nota Bene wine, offers more than just the standard wine tastings in its state of the art Wine Experience Center.  Opened next to the winery on the Black Sage Bench in June of 2012, this Napa Valley-inspired tasting room has both indoor and outdoor seating along with cabanas and a swimming pool.

Wine tasting room attendants, known at the winery as “Wine Evangelists”, guide visitors through a sit-down tasting of wines all served up in appropriate Riedel glassware.  The tasting offers guests a history of the area and its terroir and insight into the wine crafting process at Black Hill Estate Winery.  The Introductory Tasting is $10 and features some current releases including the white Meritage, Viognier and Syrah; the Portfolio Tasting Experience at $20 features all six current releases from the Black Hills Portfolio including the Nota Bene.  The Library Tasting experience is $30 and offers a 4 year vertical flight of the 2008 to 2011 Nota Bene.  New for 2013 is the addition of a wo

od fired pizza oven run by Flatbread Farms who create five different flatbreads – all paired with a different wine from Black Hills Winery.
On Saturday October 5th  Black Hills Winery will offer a Nota Bene vertical dating back from 1999 to their current release for tasting during the day for winery visitors, and in the evening they’ll host their Fall Harvest Celebration at the Wine Experience Center.

This celebration will include regional cuisine, wine tastings and live music performed by favorite local band, Peter Glockner and Double Magnum.  Cost is $119 plus taxes and includes a shuttle from Walnut Beach Resort, Osoyoos.  Call 250-298-0666 ex. 1 for tickets.
Black Hills Estate Winery is located 4318 Black Sage Road in Oliver (East on Rd. 9, 18 or 22 to Black Sage Road).
