Cannery Brewing – Official Beer Sponsor of Challenge Penticton 2014

Roslyne Buchanan · July 3, 2014 ·

Toast your favourite athletes, volunteers and staff of the Valley First Challenge Penticton Canada with Cannery Brewing, official beer sponsor.

In announcing the 2014 triathlon will have its own branded beer, Kelly Hopkins, marketing and events manager, said, “The opportunity to partner with Cannery Brewery is important for our race. We wanted to work with a local brewery and Cannery is an amazing fit.”
Patt Dyck, Cannery Brewing owner added, “We feel blessed to have started Cannery almost 15 years ago and because of the incredible community support we are still here. Sponsoring the Valley First Challenge Penticton Canada is our way of saying thanks. We look forward to being a part of the growth of the Challenge brand.”

To launch the partnership with a bang, Cannery issued a “challenge” contest to name the Challenge Lager that Dyck described as “crisp, clean, light and refreshing – perfect to enjoy after running across the finish line or while cheering on the racers.” After reviewing all 269 name submissions, Triathalager was selected as the winning name as suggested by two people, Gordon Hehn and Traci Russell. Along with the honour of naming it, both of their names will be referenced on the packaging and they both received a prize package valued at over $200 plus two VIP tickets for race day, August 24.

Visit Cannery’s new larger tasting room and retail store, located down the hall from the old space in the historic Cannery Trade Centre, Penticton.
