The Wonders of the Westside (Food &) Wine Trails

Jennifer Schell · May 26, 2015 ·

The Westside of Lake Okanagan (West Kelowna) has grown into a destination wine region. Here vineyard rows languorously stretch and roll across the volcanic hill-laden topography back-dropped by the majesty of Okanagan Lake. Views are generous and the warm summer waters bring visitors from near and far to splash and make merry under our famous summer sun.  Fun is a multifaceted adjective on the Westside, offering fun for every personality be it hiking and biking trails, wine touring, water sports–every member of your family will be appeased.
And the Westside also loves to throw parties in keeping with their fun personality! Sip into Summer is a white wine adventure event on June 6th.  Members of the delicious Westside Wine Trail will be each hosting a tasting of their new release summer wines. Tool around the trail, listen to live entertainment and test your wine IQ with blind wine tasting challenges.
The Westside has a food trail to follow now with four winery restaurants to choose from on this quaffable route. If you are into festing and feasting, don’t miss Lobsterfest under the big white tent at Mt Boucherie Winery on June 27th.  In May, Mt Boucherie will be also kicking off their glorious yoga practice in the vineyard. The Stretch, Sip & Savour series offered every Sunday starting May 24th and continues into September.
Stay tuned…the Westside Wine Trail is excited to have three brand new wineries joining their association this year! To find out more information about the upcoming events and area attractions go to thewestsidewinetrail.com/events.
