Savour Days of Quinta Ferreira Wine, Music, Paella and Picnics

Roslyne Buchanan · June 11, 2015 ·

For all the details on Quinta Ferreira Estate Winery, its portfolio of fine wines, wine club, online wine store and events, you’ll want to bookmark www.quintaferreira.com. Refreshed and recently re-launched, the website includes everything you need from buying your favourite wines online and having them shipped to you, news on upcoming events, or visiting the beautiful Mediterranean-style winery on Oliver’s Black Sage Road.
The season has shifted into full swing with the wine shop open daily from 10 am to 6 pm. Pack a picnic lunch to enjoy along with the award-winning wines and vineyard views as you linger on the picturesque licensed patio. If you prefer, this year you can purchase one of Quinta Ferreira’s meat and cheese platters designed to share with friends as you sip a glass of wine. Also, new this summer, live music is featured on the patio from 1 to 4 pm, Sundays, July 26, August 9 and August 23.
It’s time, too, to mark your calendar for the 4th Annual Paella and Wine event, noon to 4 pm, Sunday, July 12, for a fee of $20. At this perennially popular occasion, Quinta Ferreira welcomes Chef Jeff Van Geest of Miradoro Restaurant to its team to prepare paella (a famous Portuguese dish) over a live flame. With great food and live music at this great outdoor event, you’ll feel just like one of the family!
Or step through the stunning hand-carved and arched doors into the wine shop, to check out the full array of wines, view the extensive award display, and feast your eyes on the fine art images of resident artist Carmen Tomé.
