Perpetually Popular Annual Paella & Picnics At Quinta Ferreira

Roslyne Buchanan · July 2, 2015 ·

With vineyards and vistas steeped in summer’s glow, it’s a great time to cruise Oliver’s Black Sage Road with a plan to linger at Quinta Ferreira Estate Winery. On July 12th, 11:30 am to 3:30 pm, it’s the 4th Annual Paella, Wine & Live Music event for a fee of $20. Once again, Chef Jeff Van Geest from Miradoro Restaurant at Tinhorn Creek is welcomed onsite to prepare the famous Portuguese dish, paella, over an open flame. Also, featured this year is the band, Honest Woods, playing indie/folk rock with jazz influences. Tap your toes while tantalizing your taste buds with great food and wine.
Speaking of enjoying life’s rhythm, every Sunday from 1 to 4 pm, July 19th through to September 6th, there’ll be complimentary live music on the patio. This year on ‘live music Sundays’, picnic foods (cheeses, crackers, condiments) and charcuterie plates will be available for purchase from the tasting room along with wine. Lollygag on the licensed patio over a glass or bottle of Quinta Ferreira wine with your picnic as you listen to the latest entertainers. If you prefer, pack your own picnic to enjoy. For details on the paella event, information on the musicians presented each week and updates on all the news, visit facebook.com/QuintaFerreira
The most recent accolades for winemaker Michael Ferreira were in the 2015 Best of Varietal Awards at the Spring Okanagan Wine Festival. Alagria 2009 was awarded Best Red Blend and the Cabernet Sauvignon 2010 was a Finalist in its category. Buy the wines in the tasting room, open daily 10 am to 6 pm, at select stores or online at quintaferreira.com.
