The Party Continues all Summer Long At Oliver Twist Estate Winery

Lorne Eckersley · July 2, 2015 ·

To the surprise of no one, things are rockin’ out at Oliver Twist Estate Winery. Gina Mitchell, winemaker and co-owner of the winery with her husband, Trevor, is a firm believer in the adage that people should take their work seriously and themselves lightly. She leaves in her wake a trail of vibrant colours, beautifully made wines and happy customers.
The serious work of writing wine labels doesn’t prevent her from having a bit of fun, either, as proved by the back label of her 2013 Rockabilly Red:
There’s nothing quite as seductive as nostalgia. That indescribable feeling that overtakes you when a scent, a taste, a note played just right takes you back exactly where you want to be.
Ruby Sue certainly couldn’t resist the pull. This good girl gone wild from the Black Sage Bench is a rapturous beauty turned rockabilly temptress who knows what she wants and just how to get it. After all, how could she be expected to play by the rules when she lives to spread that Rockabilly rumble? Like Ruby Sue, this vibrant red blend isn’t afraid to do what feels good. Rockabilly Red is a big time riot, luscious and bursting with dark, juicy black cherries, butterscotch, cocoa, and toasty coconut flavour. Rockabilly Red is sure to be your next favourite song.
Okay, I’m no psychiatrist. If you think Ruby Sue just might be Gina Mitchell, you will have ask her yourself. Me, I plan to play it safe and live another day.
The real message here is that Oliver Twist Winery is a must-must visit for people who like wine and fun.
