Find Your Bliss at Meadow Vista Artisan Farm Winery

Blake Allen · August 27, 2015 ·

In the hustle and bustle of everyday life, it is not only a treat to take time to go wine touring but the added calm feel that you will experience the moment you walk in the doors at Meadow Vista Artisan Farm Winery is simply relaxing. Just minutes from downtown, South East Kelowna is a rural drive through orchards and vineyards offering one of the best views of the valley. If the country setting isn’t enough to ease your stress then a tasting of their internationally decorated honey wines, a drink which is rooted deeper in history than beer or wine, certainly will.

As an artisan farm, Meadow Vista offers more than just a wine tasting room. Jars of different floral variety honey, loose leaf teas, and beeswax candles line the shelves. They have also just launched a line of bath and body products made from beeswax and flowers grown on the farm. After your honey wine tasting reward yourself by dining in the shaded garden beestro and enjoying the expertly prepared dishes made from local and seasonal ingredients.

Bliss

This refreshing fruitful, sparkling cherry melomel (mead comprised of honey and fruit) will rival any Okanagan rosé. With a burst of plum and cherry wrapped in a beautiful blush colour. Free of tannins and with no added sugars, this wine pairs excellently with venison or grilled meat, though my favourite is in a tall glass filled with ice and a twist of lemon.
