Parties Are Popular At Poplar Grove Winery

Dona Sturmanis · September 2, 2015 ·

Poplar Grove Winery is a popular destination for visitors—it practically has its own following—for good reasons. There are, of course, the award-winning single varietal wines, the spectacular and scenic tasting room and patio, and the delectable offerings of The Vanilla Pod Restaurant.

What you may not know is that Poplar Grove is popular and perfect for booking private events. These could include corporate meetings or the company Christmas party. You might want Poplar Grove to host your family reunion or serve as the perfect venue for your wedding.

Whether it’s for 30 or 150 people, Poplar Grove Winery is an outstanding facility with comfortable seating and an excellent food and beverage service. Visit the website to download an events package.

The summer was particularly busy for Poplar Grove, and not surprisingly, weddings were among the highlights. Canadian jazz saxophonist Taylor Cook, originally from Penticton, also held his CD launch party here. The outdoor view cam installed on the outdoor patio was one of the most viewed pages on the Poplar Grove website—in fact, many visitors used it to check the weather before their trip to the Okanagan… to visit Poplar Grove of course!

Not surprisingly, Poplar Grove wines also continued to win awards during the summer. The 2012 Cabernet Franc and 2014 Chardonnay both won Gold at the Los Angeles International Wine Competition and the 2012 Syrah garnered Gold at the National Wine Awards of Canada. 2011 Merlot also achieved a Gold at the BC Wine Awards, sponsored by Okanagan Life.

Fall will be more popular than ever at Poplar Grove, starting with its new release, Legacy 2011. During Okanagan Fall Wine Festival, don’t miss the Library Wine Dinner; hosted by owners Tony and Barb Holler on October 7, 6:30-10:30 pm. Hosted in the private barrel room, Tony and Barb will lead you through an intricately paired dinner prepared by The Vanilla Pod Restaurant. The winery and restaurant are also teaming up during the festival each evening October 2-11, 5pm-9pm to offer a six-course wine-paired dinner.

Consider joining the popular Wine Club. As a member, you receive many benefits including exclusive releases, a 10% discount off wines purchased at the winery, and world-class wine delivered directly to your doorstep three times a year.
