Burrowing Owl – A Culinary Highlight Of The South Okanagan

Dona Sturmanis · March 3, 2016 ·

Dining at Burrowing Owl Estate Winery’s Sonora Room Restaurant is a culinary highlight when you are touring the South Okanagan’s wine country. In 2014 the Sonora Room won the Georgia Straight’s Golden Plate for Best Winery/Vineyard Restaurant, and the restaurant is consistently one of TripAdvisor’s top recommendations. Reviews on OpenTable are almost universally five stars.

To celebrate Spring Wine Festival, the Sonora Room Restaurant will be offering a nightly six-course wine paired dinner April 29th—May 8th, 2016, starting at 5:00 pm.  Each splendid course by the culinary team will be expertly paired with library and current vintage wines from Burrowing Owl’s cellar. The cost is $100 plus tax and gratuities; dinner only (no wine pairing) is $70. Reservations are strongly recommended.  Email restaurant@burrowingowlwine.ca or visit burrowingowlwine.ca.

The philosophy of the talented culinary team at the Sonora Room Restaurant is to embrace the privilege and the opportunity to showcase many of the South Okanagan’s local producers with their array of local organic produce, fresh, seasonal fruits and artisan breads and cheeses.  The restaurant’s wine list, features not only a selection of Burrowing Owl library wines no longer publicly available, but also alternate premium Okanagan wines that are carefully chosen to complement the menu.

The Sonora Room at Burrowing Owl Estate Winery is renowned for its epicurean excellence, superb service, relaxed style and of course scenic splendour. The restaurant overlooks 140 acres of picturesque vineyard from both the patio or inside the warm and inviting dining room.
