Smile-Inducing Wines At Oliver Twist Winery

Lorne Eckersley · May 6, 2016 ·

Nostalgia: “A sentimental longing or wistful affection for the past, typically for a period or place with happy personal associations.” Now, also, a series of wines with smile-inducing labels (and contents!) at Oliver Twist Estate Winery.

“Here at Oliver Twist Estate Winery we are all about vintages. Whether it’s in the vineyard, the vintage of wine, vintage cars, music and art. We love it so much that we created a new artist wine series called “NOSTALGIA.” Come by during Spring Wine Festival (through May 8th) for a complimentary tasting,” says owner-winemaker Gina Mitchell. “And keep an eye out—we will be releasing more NOSTALGIA wines in the near future!”

Fun-loving Gina and her team (Judy and Cheryle-“aka The Twisted Sisters, and Marilyn and Brittney) love events and 2016 will be no exception. A third annual Show, Shine…and Wine? event is being planned for June, featuring hot rods and classic cars on site, pinup girl contests, prizes, oldies music, a barbecue and (hint, hint) more NOSTALGIA! And the route for the May 28th Half Corked Marathon might have changed a bit, but participants will be pleased to know it still includes a stop at Oliver Twist.

Inside the winery, winemakers Gina and Denice are finishing the 2014 red wines before they are bottled. Expect the usual—Merlot and Syrah—and the not so usual, in the form of small lot surprises made especially for Twist Club members. What are you waiting for? Go to the website and sign up now!

Gina says a special treat is in store for customers in Alberta. She just shipped her first wines to BC’s neighbor to the east this spring.
