D’Angelo Estate Winery – Taste The 2006 Tempranillo

Jennifer Schell · July 4, 2016 ·

Sal D’Angelo and his family own and operate their gorgeous lakeview winery and Guest House on the Naramata Bench. Visiting the tasting room, which has been recently updated, you will feel like you are being welcomed into a home. Sal is a delight to visit with and has a multitude of knowledge to share about grape growing and wine making. This man is passionate about the vineyard and knows wine and grapes. His connection to his wines and his vines is intensive and his winemaking philosophy has always been “quality is grown”.
The Guest House is located amongst the vines with five units to rent on the vineyard, allowing guests the unique opportunity to live amongst the vines. All suites have kitchens, private bathrooms and, of course, come with a bottle of D’Angelo wine!
Currently in the tasting room, the D’Angelo’s are pouring the 2006 Tempranillo.
Stephanie D’Angelo says, “Through our Cellar Release program – we are selecting ten year old plus wines from our cellar and releasing them one case at a time to give guests the opportunity to taste. And yes, we are pouring the 2006 Tempranillo for tastings . Stop in and discover an older generation of our wines.” What an amazing opportunity for wine lovers to taste wine this age. You are in for a treat!

2006 Tempranillo – $58.00
With a garnet colour this wine has aged beautifully, starting with a Port aroma, having layers of complexity showcasing its darker fruits and earthy mineral notes. It finishes with dried figs.
