The View Is Always Spectacular

Deanna Rainey · July 4, 2016 ·

At The View Winery in southeast Kelowna, ‘fabulous and fun’ is one pairing that is guaranteed to delight. Delicious wines and ciders are the order of the day, and their sparkling wine-in-a-can, BLING, is an ongoing crowd-pleaser. And there are numerous new reasons to drop by The View.
It had to happen eventually… this year, The View has partnered with Artisto Gelato to create a double chocolate gelato infused with The View Pinotage, and was awarded the Judges Choice at Devour in March for their combined effort. The pairings proved so successful they are featuring two gelato-and-wine pairing events at The View, July 8th to 10th and August 12th to 14th.

President Jennifer Molgat has also announced the release of three new small lot wines  under her flirty red shoe label. These wines are available exclusively at The View’s charming wine shop at their heritage apple packing house location. The 2015 White Pinotage ($19.95), North America’s first white Pinotage from the red Pinotage grape, has fresh aromas of floral, citrus and subtle berry, with flavours of pineapple and white peach. And the 2015 Ehrenfelser ($19.95), an off-dry white, contains delicious layers of floral and succulent fruit notes. The sumptuous 2015 Pinot Gris ($19.95) is also a must-try during your visit.

The View is open from 11:00 to 6:30 daily, and offers five tastings for $4, which is refunded with a wine or $15 cider purchase. Their boardwalk style picnic area offers select cheeses and charcuterie plates. Just minutes from downtown Kelowna, this historic ‘don’t miss’ is sure to be one of your summer favorites! Just look for the red shoe!
