A Taste of Seasons at Clos du Soleil

Henrietta Poirier · September 8, 2016 ·

Clos du Soleil may be tucked away in a picturesque corner of the Similkameen Valley, but their wines are well known for their elegance, character and complexity. Situated on a uniquely peaceful piece of land, this small artisan winery and vineyard was established with the intention of producing wines that combine old world elegance with new world edge, and indeed, the distinct qualities of the Similkameen mingle with the traditional Bordeaux varietals. The awards and critical acclaim tell a success story for this beautiful winery.
Visitors will be delighted with the new tasting room, where a picture window provides a view into the winemaking process. A unique library of rare vintages is available only from the winery. Magnums, ideal gifts for special occasions, are also available for purchase. Moreover, a stroll through the sun-soaked vineyard is a wonderful way to end the day.
Wine lovers who are looking for a variety of vintages to challenge the palate should consider the Vertical Tasting Event, held at the winery every October. Participants at this exclusive event will have the unique opportunity to experience the development of their flagship wines, Capella, Signature, and Saturn throughout the last ten years; wines as constant as the seasons, and flavors as varied. Held in the middle of the vineyard, with each wine paired with local gourmet foods, this event is one of the most coveted events of the season.
A limited number of tickets are made available to wine club members, and in addition a competition to attend the event is open to the public via social media. Details on the competition, and the wine club, can be found at closdusoleil.ca.
