Quinta Ferreira’s Releases to Catch

Roslyne Buchanan · September 12, 2016 ·

With established family-owned and operated boutique wineries that are as popular as Quinta Ferreira Estate Winery, when the new release wines join the portfolio, it’s wise to pick up your choices before they are gone. Take Zinfandel, which is not released every year, and is Quinta Ferreira’s smallest lot at 25 cases: if you don’t buy it when you see it the opportunity is lost. Chardonnay, Quinta Ferreira’s most popular white, and Rosé will also be released in early fall and sell out quickly. Brand new in the portfolio is Riesling, which is sure to be a hit with collectors. One way to ensure first dibs is through the flexible wine club that works with your particular taste. Learn more about the wine club’s many benefits on their website quintaferreira.com
The tasting room is open daily through to November from 10 am to 6 pm. You’ll also find Quinta Ferreira doing tastings at Save On Food Stores throughout BC so be sure to watch the Facebook page to find out which store is pouring it and when. Tickets may still be available for the 8th Annual Quinta Ferreira Wine/Lamb Dinner, 6:30 pm, October 1st. It always sells out so buy your tickets soon at the winery or phone 250-498-4756.
As autumn brings a changing palette of vibrant colours to the vineyards, there’s still time to savour a glass of Quinta Ferreira wine on the licensed patio. Bring your own lunch or purchase regional meats, local cheeses, crackers and olives from the onsite deli case inside the tasting room. Looking for something to get you through winter?
Watch for wine and paint nights coming to the winery with resident artist Carmen Tome. Speaking of looking forward, if you’re planning a wedding, reunion or special private event, there’s a few spaces left for 2017 so call soon to book.
