Pizza on the Patio at Upper Bench

Roslyne Buchanan · July 12, 2017 ·

At Upper Bench Winery & Creamery, it’s a perfect pairing between Gavin Miller’s wines and Shana’s cheeses. Now, a new wood fired oven applies heat to that collaboration bringing a fresh, value-added component. In addition to Upper Bench’s popular charcuterie and cheese boards, opt for pizza that matches the wines. Christopher Royal, of Vancouver Nook locations and sister restaurant Tavola, is chef.
Celebrating Canada’s 150th Anniversary, a new wine christened “150” was released. It’s a beautiful blend of Merlot all sourced from the Naramata Bench. There are just 150 cases and disappearing fast because club members are exercising their option in always getting first access to special releases.
To step to the front of the line, join Canada’s first Curds & Corks Club. Benefits of this unique club include a shipment of wine four times annually with handcrafted cheese to pair; special discounts on additional wine purchases; complimentary wine-and-cheese tasting for you and three friends at the winery; invitation to the exclusive Annual Pick up Party, Upper Bench tasting notes and recipes; plus, exclusive access to pre-released wines, past vintages and members-only artisan cheeses. “Spread the Curd” and you receive free shipping on your next shipment when friends sign on as a member. See www.upperbench.ca, Facebook and twitter for details and updates. Open daily, 10 am to 6 pm. The patio is covered for your enjoyment of Upper Bench wine and cheese. It even offers an overhead spritzer to mist you on those hot days.
