Show and Wine Time at Oliver Twist

Luke Whittall · July 12, 2017 ·

It is always a party, retro-cool style, at Oliver Twist. Each year the winery hosts the fabulous “Show, Shine… and Wine?” which attracts amazing classic cars. This year’s event on July 8th promises to be the biggest event in their history. The Okanagan Wolfman will be hosting as emcee and there will be live music from the Timbre Wolves, assorted food trucks, vendors, beer from the Red Truck Brewery, and a classic pinup girl competition. Of course, there will be wine and the spotlight will be on the unveiling of the new wine in the Nostalgia Series. New this year is a toy drive to benefit Santa’s Anonymous, an organization that provides gifts to children for Christmas and birthdays throughout the year. Bring along a new toy to donate and be entered to win a prize!
Two wines have taken home some impressive hardware at the Okanagan Wine Festival’s Best of Varietal wine awards. The 2013 Syrah and the 2013 Malbec have both come home with Gold medals. Oliver Twist has won some serious awards for previous vintages of the Syrah and this one continues to show winemaker and owner Gina Harfman’s expert handling of this bold variety. Limited amounts of the Syrah are available and the Malbec is released only to members of the Twist Club wine club.
Oliver Twist is now a lunch destination! The Silver Bullet Express is parked right near the patio and Chef Darby is offering beer battered fish and chips, fish tacos, and other lunchtime treats every day from 11am. With a view of the valley like no other and amazing Oliver Twist wines, it is a perfect place for lunch or munchie break during your wine tour.
