SUMMER SIPPIN’ AT CEDAR CREEK

Sue Harper · June 22, 2018 ·

When summer is at its sizzling best, it’s time to savour the many tasting options at CedarCreek Estate Winery.

Not sure when you’ll arrive? Seated tastings are offered throughout the day, beginning at 10 am, and drop-ins are always welcome. Enjoy refreshing and aromatic white wines and of course Pinot Noir, all grown in CedarCreek’s Estate vineyards. Or try the Bordeaux reds from grapes nurtured in its Osoyoos vineyards.

You’ll love the Platinum Experience, a private sommelier-hosted tasting of Estate and Platinum wines as well as Library releases served with cheese and charcuterie. There’s also a winery tour. Reservations are required, so please call ahead.

If the winemaking process intrigues you, book a spot on the 2 pm Cellar Tour. After visiting the renovated tank room and barrel cellar, you will be guided through an educational tasting of four, award-winning wines while taking in the view over the vineyard and lake.

For something completely different, lace up your walking shoes and learn about the geological history and unique terroir of the Home Block vineyard with a vineyard hike at 11 am daily. Sip single-block Platinum wine among the vines and learn about the winery’s transition to organic viticulture.

Stay for Lunch: No matter which tasting you choose, you can enhance your visit by enjoying a casual summer lunch. While construction of an exciting new restaurant is underway, the chefs are creating a revolving menu of local, seasonal offerings for guests to enjoy at the Pavilion overlooking the lake from 12 to 4 pm daily.

Yoga Too!:Tuesday evenings, from July 3 to Sept 11, centre yourself with yoga in the outdoor Pavilion followed by wine, salad and charcuterie. Classes starts at 6:30 pm.

This summer, take advantage of the 20-minute drive from downtown Kelowna and sample the menu of tasting options at CedarCreek Estate Winery.
