FOR CASUAL OR REFINED DINING, SUMMERHILL HAS YOU COVERED

Roslyne Buchanan · July 1, 2021 ·

New options at Summerhill Pyramid Winery cater to those seeking rustic, family-style dining, augmenting Summerhill’s many ways of celebrating the connection between wine, food and people.

Fire Kitchen Now Available

Jeremy Luypen, Summerhill’s director of culinary and hospitality, introduced the winery’s new outdoor fire kitchen, built beside the culinary garden for rustic, family-style special meals. Serving tables of four to six people, special lunches and dinners are offered.

“By an open flame, guests can have fun watching their meal prepared, perhaps touring the gardens, watching vegetables being gathered, then washed and prepared right there,” said Luypen. “It’s like having a campfire with the best food created for you.”

Outdoor Sunset Burger Nights

On Wednesdays, 6 or 6:30 pm bookings for tables of four to six people highlight gourmet burgers, which are pre-selected on ticket purchase. Start with a complimentary glass of Cipes Brut and a shareable appetizer like chips and dip. Build your gourmet burger at your table on the lawn, with the “Tower of Toppings” including fun condiments and sauces—perhaps crab hollandaise! To finish, enjoy a handheld sweet by Chef Tina Tang: think ice cream sandwiches!

On Wednesdays and Thursdays, Summerhill also offers a to-go option: the tastiest and freshest burgers, changing weekly, with your choice of two sides for $19. Order online for 5 or 5:30 pm pickup, and enjoy at home or at a park.

Picnics and High Tea

Indulge in the ultimate gourmet Okanagan picnic for two. For more people, add more goodies. A one-stop shop, your pre-ordered picnic can include a basket with cutlery or simply be curated in a paper bag.

Book the Sparkling High Tea for Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays at 12, 1 or 2 pm. It includes Cipes Brut, organic savoury bits, house-made scones and croissants with seasonal preserves and clotted cream, mini pastries and artisanal TWG Tea.

Summerhill Organic Bistro invites you to relax in its scenic dining room or on its year-round patio. The bistro also offers takeout and weekly dinners for home or as an outside picnic.

Finally, Summerhill offers Peace Meals: Organic Chinese Cuisine, a partnership with Tradition Chinese Restaurant, for takeout or delivery.

Details on all of Summerhill’s dining options are available at summerhill.bc.ca.
