RENOWNED FALL FESTIVITIES RETURN TO HESTER CREEK

Admin · November 5, 2019 ·

As the vineyards turn to hues of fire and gold, and the growing season winds down, there is still so much for wine enthusiasts to anticipate in the Okanagan. Hester Creek Estate Winery is proud to offer a number of popular events, as well as new Bench Club exclusive wine releases to celebrate the changing seasons.

Club Rewards
The 2018 Sémillon was harvested from Block 12 of the estate vineyard and delivers vibrant herbaceous aromatics followed by a crisp, juicy palate of citrus and orchard-fresh green apples. The wine presents a deliciously clean, balanced character and is a divine pairing with a summer seafood feast of fresh mussels in a saffron cream sauce.

In addition, the small lot 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon returns just in time for the tail-end of barbecue season. This is your perfect NY strip loin partner. Rich aromas of cedar box, cassis and molasses are followed by a balanced palate of dark berries, vanilla and smooth, refined tannins. Both are available to Hester Creek Bench Club members only.

Fun Festivities
The winery is hosting a series of festivities throughout the remainder of the year, starting with the Fall Okanagan Wine Festival and running through to December, with something for foodies and wine enthusiasts alike.

Winemakers Harvest Lunch: Friday, October 4
Celebrate harvest at Hester Creek for the annual Winemakers Harvest Lunch. Dine alfresco-style with a multi-course, spit-roast lunch made with locally inspired cuisine, all paired with Hester Creek’s award-winning wines. Reservations are required.

Garlic Festival: Saturday, October 5
Support the Oliver Elementary School’s Farm-to-Table Lunch Program by attending the 8th Annual Garlic Festival at Hester Creek. The whole family is welcome for this free event in celebration of garlic farmers and local artisan crafters. It includes live entertainment, food carts and more! The festival runs from 10 am to 5 pm; admission is by donation for charity.

Chef-led Culinary Classes
Due to overwhelming popularity, Hester Creek has extended its Culinary Class program with more options into fall. With only 14 seats available per session, these classes fill up fast. Don’t miss the chance to elevate your cooking skills with the help of a renowned chef in an intimate learning setting, where professional techniques, local ingredients and the interplay of food and wine are all central focuses.

Why Limit Happy to an Hour?
What’s better than savouring scenic autumn vineyard landscapes while sipping some award-winning Okanagan wine? Nothing! Every Monday to Friday this fall, Hester Creek is offering extended hours for Happy Hour on the Patio. As the winery puts it best, “why limit happy to an hour?” Grab your family and friends for wine and appies on the Tuscan-style patio overlooking the picturesque estate vineyard.

See hestercreek.com/visit/events for more details.
