Lakestone: Community Development of the Year 2020

Admin · August 31, 2020 ·

By Kim Foreman Rhindress

When asked why they chose to move to the Okanagan, eighty percent of all new residents respond with one simple answer, for the lifestyle. Indeed, no other region in Canada offers more outdoor enjoyment options than the Okanagan Valley, and the developers of Lake Country’s Lakestone want to ensure their residents are able to enjoy the area to the fullest.

Developed by MacDonald Communities Ltd., Lakestone is perfectly situated for those who want to enjoy life in nature yet still have all the important amenities a city like Kelowna has to offer.

With 550 acres of land and nearly 300 metres of elevation change from the lake edge to Beacon Hill Park, Lakestone provides spectacular mountain and lake views less than ten minutes from Kelowna International Airport and eighteen minutes from the city centre.

With more than fifty percent of the land dedicated to natural open space, the grading for residential development has been minimized as much as possible to ensure the natural feel remains intact. A variety of lots ranging from lakefront to lake-view sites means there is truly something for everyone at Lakestone.

Award Winning Design

The Canadian Home Builders Association agrees, awarding Lakestone the coveted National Award for Community Development of the Year at the 2020 National Awards for Housing Excellence. The prestigious competition recognizes the best in Canadian new homes and community development with over 700 entries received from coast to coast.

“Many people are choosing Lakestone because they want a low-maintenance life.” explains Laura Box, Marketing Manager of Carrington Homes, “Everything from the exterior finishing to the landscaping is designed to be move-in ready and worry-free.”

New Show Open as of August 2020

“Not only is Lakestone an award-winning community,” adds Box, “With prices starting at only $649,900, for a contemporary paired home, people have the opportunity to really live the Okanagan dream.”

Visitors to the area are welcome to view the latest show home at Lakestone. Visit LakestoneLiving.com for hours, photos, location and to ask questions of their team.

Active Lifestyle

With almost 30 kilometres of hiking trails that wind their way through 250 acres of natural open space, Lakestone is also just minutes from the newly opened rail-trail bike path that extends from Vernon to Kelowna as well as numerous golf courses and two world-class ski resorts.

Throughout the property residents enjoy private clubhouses, swimming pools, tennis and pickleball courts, a private Okanagan Lake loading dock, and a foreshore park for all types of water activities.

With the masterplan calling for 1,300 families upon completion, now is the time to explore this unique and extraordinary place.
